“PRINT WHAT YOU WANT TO PRESERVE”
“‘CAUSE YOU’RE NOT PRINTING THEM FOR YOU: YOU’RE PRINTING THEM FOR YOUR KIDS… AND THEIR KIDS… AND THEIR KIDS…”
“IF YOU DONT THINK PHOTOS ARE IMPORTATNT WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE ALL YOU HAVE LEFT”
“WHY DO I SELL PRINTS TO MY CLIENTS? BECAUSE I MADE THEM AND KNOW EXACTLY HOW THEY SHOULD LOOK. AND WALMART DOESN’T”
“IT SHOULDN’T REQUIRE ELECTRICITY TO SEE AN IMAGE OF SOMEONE YOU LOVE”
All of these quotes were said by one wonderfully sarcastic some times drunk but don’t judge her woman and photographer. Missy Mwac. If you don’t know who she is, you should totally look her up. She is beautiful, funny and best of all honest. The second I found her everything clicked for me. I always knew that I wanted to provide my clients with physical products instead of just digital images, but I could never explain why. Missy is amazing at justifying the world of physical prints.
My goal as a photographer is for you to love your photos so much that you want to hang them on your wall for everyone to see for years to come. I want you to love them so much that you order an album so you can sit with your kid’s kids years down the road and show them what their parents looked like when they were born. I want your images to live on long after you. One of my favorite things to do as a kid, and even now as an adult, is to look at pictures of my parents when they were young. I want your kids, and their kids, and their kids to be able to do that too.
This philosophy isn’t everyone’s. I know that. And that’s okay.
But I want to be upfront with you and explain how and why I run my business the way I do.
